1 Year Photos

So we had Shannon Weight (Dietz) take some 1 year photos of Hannah a couple weeks ago.  She did awesome.  Her website is weightphotography.blogspot.com.  She added them to her blog and I downloaded them and put them in to a collage for everyone to see.  If there is a photo that you would like to have just let us know and we will get one to you when we get them developed.

We thought the day would never come.  We anticipated the day, hoped for the day and as with everything else, Hannah decided to do things when she was ready.  Well the day finally came, and she was off like a rocket.  All it takes is a little confidence and a step in the right direction.  I look at this and see so much symbolism.  If we walk, as a little child, towards our Heavenly Father and trust he will be there, we can one day fall in to His arms and he will catch us and we will all laugh, cry, and clap knowing we just made it.  I love being a Dad.

Growing Up In Mom's Footsteps

This video was taken by Sabrina.  Hannah had gotten in to the cupboards and was mixing up a nice batch of nothing.  She was having fun playing and, according to mom, practicing her baking skills.  If she is anything like her mom, which she definitely is, she will be an awesome cook.  Here's the video.

Spoiled

I have the best husband in the world, and here is why.  I had plans to meet a friend in Woods Cross yesterday, so Hannah and I got up and got ready to leave.  I wanted to get the house picked up before we left, but I didn't have time.  We ran our errands on the way out of town, and then made the 45 minute drive to Becca's house.  We had lunch and Hannah played with Carter and Will and did really well.  She liked climbing the stairs, and helping put the toys away.  I had planned on stopping at IKEA on our way home, but we left later than I planned.  Hannah fell asleep as soon as we got in the car, and I didn't want to disrupt her nap, and Jacob had a Hunter Education class that would last most of the evening, so we wanted to get home to spend some time with him before he left.  I called him to let him know we were on our way, and he said to call when we were passing the University Parkway exit and he would pack up and come home.  When we got home I got Hannah out of the car and was going to put her in her crib to see if she would sleep any longer, but as I walked in the door and looked around I was completely shocked.  Someone had cleaned my house while we were gone.  The dishes were all washed and put away, the table was cleared off, the living room was clean and I was shocked.  I walked back to the living room to get Hannah's binkie and Jacob walked in, so Hannah's nap was finished because she was so excited to see Dad.  I told Jacob about the house being cleaned by a mysterious someone and he said I probably just did it in my sleep or something.  He said maybe it was my mom or someone else in my family, but we both knew they were not in town.  I told him he must have paid someone, and he said we didn't have money to pay someone, so then I suggested that he came home early from work and did it himself.  He tried to play it off like he had just come home after I did, but he had a little grin that gives him away when he is trying to keep a secret.  He was sure it wasn't him, but two little things gave him away.  I had been chatting with him earlier that morning before Hannah and I left, so I looked at the chat box and it showed him as offline at 2:30, which is unusually early, and his lunch dishes were at the sink (unwashed so it would look like he just got home) but he forgot to take them with him when he left, so he wasn't carrying them when he came in.  He gave a couple other little hints that it was he who cleaned the house, but he always tried to cover them up when I caught him.  I am totally and absolutely spoiled, and though I don't deserve it, I am desperately grateful.

Hannah is now 1!!

On October 2, 2008 Hannah turned 1 year old.  That is nuts!!  We had a birthday party for her the day before so that family members could make it.  It was a lot of fun to watch her look at that cake and touch it ever so softly, then after realizing that she could eat it she went crazy.  You could see the times when she got a sugar rush.  She is just so adorable.  Here are a few pictures that we took.  If you want to see them all you can go to http://gallery.me.com/jacoblee.

Washington Trip

So this last weekend we went to WA for a little trip.  It was so fun.  We really didn't want to come back home.  We did so many things and went to many different places.  Thursday we went to Bonnies new place and spent the night with them.  I went golfing that morning as well.  Bonnie and Rick have a great place there in Port Orchard.  They were really encouraging us to move up there.  They did a good job trying to convince us.  Friday we had a picnic and hung out for a while with them.  We then went to Red Robin to meet up with Aaron and Courtney and their family.  It is always nice to see friends.  That night I had the pleasure of going on a ride-a-long with Officer Joe Brown.  That had its exciting times and slow times.  He dropped me off around 3 AM.  And then just as we thought, after he dropped me off he had a couple more exciting events happen.  Oh well it was fun.  We also went to the UW vs BYU football game on Saturday.  What a game!!  That was fun.  After all that we basically hung out and spent time with family.  Monday morning we went to Snoqualmie falls and then to Kami Teriyaki and then made our way to the airport.  It was a great trip and we had lots of fun.  I took many pictures but only posted 5 here.  If you want to see them all go to gallery.me.com/jacoblee then click on the link to Washington Trip.

Hannah Laughing

One of the many times that I was changing Hannah I decided to play a little game.  It seems like whenever I change her I try to have as fun as I can.  I would at times play peek-a-boo, or tickle her or just try and make her laugh.  We have fun at changing time.  Well this time around I thought about how she would react to bonking me on the head.  (She always kicks when she is laying down, I just decided to put my head there)  So I place my head right where her feet land and voila, she is laughing.  She thought that was so funny.  She was laughing so hard there were tears coming down.  At one point in the video she takes a breath cause she can't breathe.  We did this for about 5 min or so.  It was by far, the funniest thing I had seen.  Enjoy!

It's a Girl!!

On August 19th we went in for our 20 week ultrasound appointment.  We had been wondering if we would find out what the sex will be.  I think we were just too excited this time that we had to find out.  It was fun the first time not knowing.  Going in to the ultrasound we had no idea as what we thought it would be.  There was no feelings saying one way or the other.  We also had no preference either.  Well as the ultra sound went on and it came to the point where we could see I knew right away that it was another girl.  Mostly cause I didn't see a third leg.  We are excited that it will be another girl.  We hope that the two girls will grow up being best friends and playing together lots.  I hope that they are both like their mom.  So here are the pictures that were taken.  Some are pretty obvious and others aren't, so I will explain.

This one is her profile.

This one would be her cute little foot.

This one is her hand.  She was actually giving us a thumbs up but you can't tell in the picture.

And here is her Female parts.  Apparently her umbilical cord got in the way and made it a little difficult to see.

So we haven't decided on a name yet so suggestions are welcome.  We have thought of Abby and Jenna.  What do you think?

Dancing with Dad

So this video took place a while ago, but I thought it would be fun for all to see.  I love playing with Hannah.  I look at this and I picture myself going to Daddy - Daughter Dances and embarrassing her with my awesome dance moves.  She will laugh at me and then we will talk about it forever.  And then having the first dance with her on the day of her wedding.  It is such an honor to be a parent and a blessing to have Hannah as a daughter.

Ladies

Many, many moons ago Farmar and Farfar were in town and Farfar introduced Ladies go prancidy to Hannah for the first time.  It was not well received.  We have continued to show her that it is the one thing that she will always want to do when Farfar comes around.  It was actually a funny thing to see.  As soon as the rowdies would start she would start to cry and then stop as soon as he stopped.  She loves to do it now.  She shakes her arms telling me to go again.  It is lots of fun.  It will be different the next time around.

Riding the Bull

What a priceless moment.  You may be able to see that I am totally laughing while she is bobbing her head.  I just couldn't help not catching this on video.  She is so precious and like any other kid she doesn't want to just go to sleep.  She has to fight it.  Sometimes there is just no way that you can overcome sleep.

Friends Playing

We were asked to babysit on of our friends kids one day.  We don't mind doing this, or I should say Sabrina doesn't mind since I am at work and am not home to help.  The kids love to play together and as Hannah gets bigger the more fun they have.  Belle is such a good helper too.  It is nice to be able to let the kids play together and not have to worry about them for a bit.  This time around Sabrina heard some laughing going on and this is what she found.  Two girls playing together.  What a fun experience.

Pictures

So I also have a website that I upload pictures to all the time.  I have decided that for each month I will create a new gallery of pictures that are taken during that time.  I started doing that last month and have a number of pictures there.  If you are not aware of the website it is gallery.me.com/jacoblee.  Or you can get to it by going to www.jacobjlee.com.

Indian Yell

Just another new thing that Hannah has learned.  She finds it fun to clap her hands and now make noises with her mouth.  It's fun how every morning when Hannah awakes we go and pick her up and she starts to clap.  It is so cute.  I love her smiles.  How can anyone ever get mad when a kid smiles like this.

Climbing

So yesterday, Sunday the 3rd of August, I was downstairs watching Hannah and she decided that she wanted to go over to the stairs.  I watched her and next thing I knew she had climbed up the first stair.  Now let's go back a day.  Sabrina thought it would be fun to show Hannah how to lift her leg and get up the stairs.  She must have thought it was fun and wanted to try on her own.  Well I got up and went over to Hannah as she continued to climb the stairs.  Dang kids learn fast.  So I just let her keep climbing (standing behind her to be there in case she took a tumble.  Well as you can see she made it all the way to the top, with a little slip towards the top.  Good thing I was there cause she would have fallen all the way back down.  Little did she know how close she was to getting hurt bad.  It's amazing how fast they grow and how fast they learn.  I love to see her grow.

Hannah is proudly showing off her teeth.  She now has seven pearly whites, three on the top and four on the bottom.

I have a couple of videos that I tried to download, but technical difficulties resulted, so I will keep trying.

After

These are the after pictures.  My dad and Jacob did all of the hard work.  I just ran the errands and brought drinks and helped with the clean up.  The second attempt at finishing went much smoother, and the results look great.

Before

These pictures are of our house in Monroe after the stucco, and before we got the trim painted.  We went down over the 4th of July and scraped the peeling paint and primed.  It was a big two day project, and at the end the north end of the house (shown above) was completely done, but the south end and the front were just primed.  The primer was really thick and didn't flow through the sprayer very well, and there were warped boards and other obstacles to paint around.  Even with the primer it looked better, but two weekends later we returned to finish the front and south end.

I keep thinking that I will get around to posting, but it never happens.  Taking care of four kids leaves less down time than before, but the babies are napping and the older two are watching a movie so I have a rare quiet moment.  Just one more week with the older two, then it will be back to just the babies.  I will have one week off, since all the kids will be traveling down to southern Utah with their mom while she goes down for an audit trip.  Hannah and I will go spend the week with my parents, and Jacob will join us for the weekend.  This summer has passed so quickly!  I have some pictures and videos to download, but I don't have the camera cable since it ended up in Jacob's computer bag.  If I remember to get it out tonight I will add the most recent pictures of Hannah.

She is crawling and pulling herself up to the furniture, and getting in to all kinds of stuff.  She has been pretty mild about getting in to things until about the last week, when she really figured out the crawling thing and has just taken off.  I have been trying to avoid baby-proofing, but I can't wait any longer.  Just one more thing to do on my seemingly never-ending list.  Wish me luck!

Little Peanut

It's Official!!!
We are going to have another kid.  Crazy that we are already working on number 2.  This little peanut's due date is January 6th.  Sabrina is going through all the early pregnancy "stuff" right now and not enjoying it.  Hopefully it won't last as long as it did with Hannah.  We are still not sure if we are going to find out the sex this time.  We are leaning towards finding out but will decide for sure by the time the ultrasound comes around.

I finally got Hannah to show her teeth for a picture.  I think she is used to the idea of having teeth and she doesn't bite me anymore, which is a real plus in the nursing department.  She is also learning how to drink from a sippy cup.  She hasn't quite figured out the "sipping" part of her sippy cup, so I take the valve out to help her get the idea that something will come out.  She mostly chews on it, or dumps it over the side of the high chair.  It is a good thing I only put water in it!

Growing Up

The other day Sabrina decided that she would take some pictures of Hannah.  She pulled out a sheet and used it as a backdrop and then started dressing up Hannah in different outfits (I think she was thinking back to her younger days playing with dolls).  She took some good pictures.  I decided that I wanted to have some more pictures in my office so I put this together one day.  I think it turned out great.  Hannah is growing up too fast.  She just had her second tooth break through this morning too.  Where has all the time gone?

Welcome

Well here goes.  I figure since everyone else is doing it, why not us.  This will also give Sabrina something to do while she is at home during her down times.
