Growing Up In Mom's Footsteps

This video was taken by Sabrina.  Hannah had gotten in to the cupboards and was mixing up a nice batch of nothing.  She was having fun playing and, according to mom, practicing her baking skills.  If she is anything like her mom, which she definitely is, she will be an awesome cook.  Here's the video.

Spoiled

I have the best husband in the world, and here is why.  I had plans to meet a friend in Woods Cross yesterday, so Hannah and I got up and got ready to leave.  I wanted to get the house picked up before we left, but I didn't have time.  We ran our errands on the way out of town, and then made the 45 minute drive to Becca's house.  We had lunch and Hannah played with Carter and Will and did really well.  She liked climbing the stairs, and helping put the toys away.  I had planned on stopping at IKEA on our way home, but we left later than I planned.  Hannah fell asleep as soon as we got in the car, and I didn't want to disrupt her nap, and Jacob had a Hunter Education class that would last most of the evening, so we wanted to get home to spend some time with him before he left.  I called him to let him know we were on our way, and he said to call when we were passing the University Parkway exit and he would pack up and come home.  When we got home I got Hannah out of the car and was going to put her in her crib to see if she would sleep any longer, but as I walked in the door and looked around I was completely shocked.  Someone had cleaned my house while we were gone.  The dishes were all washed and put away, the table was cleared off, the living room was clean and I was shocked.  I walked back to the living room to get Hannah's binkie and Jacob walked in, so Hannah's nap was finished because she was so excited to see Dad.  I told Jacob about the house being cleaned by a mysterious someone and he said I probably just did it in my sleep or something.  He said maybe it was my mom or someone else in my family, but we both knew they were not in town.  I told him he must have paid someone, and he said we didn't have money to pay someone, so then I suggested that he came home early from work and did it himself.  He tried to play it off like he had just come home after I did, but he had a little grin that gives him away when he is trying to keep a secret.  He was sure it wasn't him, but two little things gave him away.  I had been chatting with him earlier that morning before Hannah and I left, so I looked at the chat box and it showed him as offline at 2:30, which is unusually early, and his lunch dishes were at the sink (unwashed so it would look like he just got home) but he forgot to take them with him when he left, so he wasn't carrying them when he came in.  He gave a couple other little hints that it was he who cleaned the house, but he always tried to cover them up when I caught him.  I am totally and absolutely spoiled, and though I don't deserve it, I am desperately grateful.

Hannah is now 1!!

On October 2, 2008 Hannah turned 1 year old.  That is nuts!!  We had a birthday party for her the day before so that family members could make it.  It was a lot of fun to watch her look at that cake and touch it ever so softly, then after realizing that she could eat it she went crazy.  You could see the times when she got a sugar rush.  She is just so adorable.  Here are a few pictures that we took.  If you want to see them all you can go to http://gallery.me.com/jacoblee.
